Biography

Tenor Milen Bozhkov was born in Varna-Bulgaria.
Completed his degree at Music Academy “P. Vladigerov” Sofia and furthered his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz under KS Prof.Joanna Borowska.
Since graduation he’s been perfecting his vocal technique under the professional guidance and mentorship of KS Krassimira Stoyanova.

His first singing engagements were with The National Opera and Ballet in Sofia, Bulgaria – produced and directed by Prof. Plamen Kartaloff. After gaining stage experience, Milen accepted his next engagement with Opernhaus Graz.

From 2007-2009 Milen was a permanent member of the Slovenian National Theatre in Maribor, followed by concerts in Japan, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Latvia and Bulgaria.

Throughout his professional carrer Milen has successfully incarnated in the roles of: Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Titus (La clemenza di Tito), Tamino (The Magic Flute), Vladimir (Prince Igor), Rodolfo (La Boheme), Werther (Werther), Il Duca di Mantova (Rigoletto), Des Grieux (Manon), Don José (Carmen), Gerald (Lakmé), Alfredo (La Traviata), and Riccardo (Un Ballo in maschera).

Along with numerous guest appearances in variuos operatic stages and festivals in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Milen had a permanent engagement from 2008-2013 in Landestheater Coburg.

As of September 2013 Milen Bozhkov is a freelance opera singer.
